Sunsets
I started taking photos of sunsets so that I could use them as reference later to paint. So I go out whenever I see the sky lit up to make sure to capture the colours.
Flowers
For the same reason I found myself taking photos of different varieties of flowers on different angles and in different locations to find the best picture to paint later.
